PALS for Physicians

At PALS, we understand patient labs are a critical component to care. With close to 30 million uninsured people in the United States, it is vital to have a patient assistance program for lab services. We make it easy for both you and your patient to order and receive lab results while putting money back in your patient’s pocket.

How does the PALS program work?

Our program works with both the individual patient as well as directly with the provider. Your patient can send us an order form directly, or as a provider, you can send it in for them. We do require a Physician’s order for each patient order. Patient care is our number one priority. Should your patient have a critical result, we will immediately contact your office. We also accept standing orders.

There are two ways to order. We offer both a downloadable paper order form, as well as online ordering. Once we receive the order, we will invoice the patient directly. The provider will then receive results directly from the lab once they are complete. The paper order form will need to be signed by the provider. Most of our clinics prefer to complete the online order form and then simply fax over a copy of the original order.

We also offer a program for providers that have blood draw capabilities in office. If your office currently draws labs, and you are interested in offering PALS services to your uninsured patients, please complete the form below and we will contact you with the next step in securing an account with PALS. The process is very fast and can be completed within a matter of minutes.

Common Questions

Where will my patients go to get their labs drawn?

Patients will be sent to the closest PSC (Patient Service Center) to their home zip code. We will send the PSC address and contact information, with the completed lab requisition, to the patient.

How will my patients be billed?

Once we receive a lab order, your patient will receive an itemized invoice via email. The invoice is payable online, through our secure payment platform. There are also payment instructions in the body of the email.

My patient doesn’t have an email address. Can they still use PALS?

Absolutely! We have a number of patients that do not have email addresses. They simply mail a check or money order to us with their order form. We prefer not to collect any personal payment information, but we do have the ability to do so should your patient feel more comfortable paying that way.

My patient doesn’t have a social security number, can they still order?

You bet! We only ask for the last four numbers of the patient’s social security number as an alternative patient identifier. We process a number of orders for patients that have not been issued a social security number. If you are ordering online, please use “9999” for this entry.

My patient is a minor, can they use the PALS program?

Yes! Because we require a copy of the Physician’s order, we can process orders for minor patients.

How long does the ordering process take?

Our staff processes all orders immediately upon receipt. Most patients receive their invoices within 20 minutes after an order is sent in. Once your patient pays the invoice, they can expect their requisition within the hour. Delays can happen if it is outside our normal operating hours, or if patient payment is delayed.

Please feel free to reach out to us with any questions. Our staff is courteous, knowledgeable, and ready to assist you and your patients. We welcome all patients and providers to join the PALS family of care.
